The number of street children in Vientiane has been rapidly increasing for a few years. More and more poor families and children move to the city to find work and a livelihood. The number of street children is estimated to be up to 500. These children do not have access to education since they live, work and are exploited in the streets of the Lao Capital. They face many great risks: neglect, exploitation for sexual or trafficking purposes, physical and moral abuse, etc.
