Covering the third largest area in the world (after Russia and Canada), China is currently the most populated country in the world. From its very populated alluvial plains on the banks of the Yellow River and the Eastern China Sea to its western mountainous ranges, the country has a diversity of landscapes and cultures. Each year, China faces many natural disasters such as torrential downpour, floods, snowstorms and earthquakes. It also faces several problems such as gender imbalance and growing social unrest. In spite of its rapid economic growth, China still remains a largely rural country with more than 80% of its population growing rice as their primary source of income.
Having conducted extensive assessments of the educational issues in China, Aide et Action decided to work on three themes in pilot areas. These themes are Health education, Migration and Gender Education. Aide et Action has developed totally 3 projects on these 3 themes, in partnership with different organizations.
