Aide et Action began its work in Southeast Asia in 2003, working first in Cambodia and then extending its programs to Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and China through both partnerships and direct implementation with local stakeholders (NGOs, governments, communities)
After many years of conflicts and loss of qualified human resources, the countries in which we intervene now face many difficulties in the rebuilding of educational services or reaching the Education for All objectives for 2015.
Even with great official educational statistics, nearly 50 million children in China still are outside the educational public system mainly in the poorest zones of the country or in the ever-booming cities.
In Laos, one of the poorest countries in Asia, the education system is still rebuilding from the scars of the civil war. The country lacks infrastructures and qualified teachers.
The Vietnamese government since the end of the civil war (commonly called the American war) has made education a priority for its population of 80 millions.
