| Drop-out problem in Vietnam |
| From the academic year 2003-2004, to 2005-2005, the number of primary school students dropping out of school decreased from 261.405 to 174.700. However, the drop-out rate increased slightly in 2005-2006 to 244.065 students. According to the official statistics of the Ministry of Education and Training, at the end of the first school term 2007-2008, about 12.966 students have already dropped out of school. This figure is significant enough to attract concern.

From mid October to mid November, 2007, children took part in a number of activities such as drawing and writing contests, story telling, role plays, performances, and also direct Question-Answer session in a discussion forum on the theme “We appreciate our teachers”. |
